One thing I haven't mastered, unless the language or graphic hop-into-bed scenes make me dump the book, I read to the last page. Often I wonder, why did I buy that story? Maybe because I'm an optimistic, hopeful person. Hope you get your mojo to read back soon, Dora.LoRee Peeryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06465045728587145734noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5261565146996067111.post-58812385570295191282015-12-09T19:12:45.803-05:002015-12-09T19:12:45.803-05:00Love you back!Love you back!Dora Hiershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00776046195295470466noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5261565146996067111.post-37245671509957489382015-12-09T15:57:42.121-05:002015-12-09T15:57:42.121-05:00Hi Dora, I hear ya... It's okay to need someone.I find myself with lots of half-read stuff. Dunno. Maybe I have ADD after all. Or maybe I'll go back to the beginning: Louisa May Alcott. I'm right there with you. I recently took some time off from every thing. I use my Kindle more for the apps and checking social media than I do reading. I think sometimes our brains just get jammed with all the info. :D Like you, I have stopped reading for the pleasure and more for the job. That gets old in a hurry. I marvel at these who read several books a week when I can't seem to read one in two weeks! So, I've decided to concentrate on writing and research. Maybe that will spark the hunger for a good read. <3<br />Gailhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17416581217081363983noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5261565146996067111.post-79848986704924895122015-12-09T10:30:36.637-05:002015-12-09T10:30:36.637-05:00I didn't even ask for a kindle gift card this ...I didn't even ask for a kindle gift card this year. :(<br />A brief (very brief, lol) switch to non-fiction might work. But eventually, once I get my Christmas Amazon card, I will search for books others are excited about and give them a go. Just have to download one at a time and make myself take the time. J. I read, read, read...I go through those stages, too. I read, read, read, read, read. Then ... not. It's like anything else. We need moderation. Also, I think we can become so focused on getting through out stacks that we forget to enjoy the stories. Then it becomes like work. Lately, the only time I read is while I'm on my treadmill. I try to read in bed at night, but no matter how good the book is, I'm out after the first or second page. I think my main problem is guilt. While reading, my mind tells me I should be writing...sigh.Jill Weatherholthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12935341991222337363noreply@blogger.com
